Day by Day
Day 1
Arrive Kunming
Pickup and a gentle first day at 1,900 metres: Green Lake Park's teahouses and gulls, the flower-and-bird lanes, and over-the-bridge rice noodles done properly.
Day 2
Kunming to Dali
West through the mountains (about 4.5 hours, motorway all the way) to Dali. Afternoon at the Three Pagodas reflecting against Cangshan's ridgeline, then golden hour inside the old town's stone gates. Overnight Dali.
Day 3
Erhai Lake to Lijiang
Morning along Erhai's shoreline — the lakeside road through Xizhou's Bai architecture and tie-dye workshops is the drive people move to Dali for — then north to Lijiang (about 3 hours). Evening in the old town as the lanterns come on.
Day 4
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
The full mountain day: Glacier Park cableway to 4,506 metres, Blue Moon Valley's blue terraces, Baisha's murals, and Lion Hill sunset over the rooftops.
Day 5
Tiger Leaping Gorge & Departure
North to where the Yangtze funnels between 3,900-metre walls — one of the world's deepest gorges. Walk the upper viewpoint path above the rapids, lunch overlooking the river, then return for drop-off at Lijiang airport or rail station. (Two extra days extends this cleanly to Shangri-La.)
Route notes: The route climbs from 1,900m (Kunming) to 2,400m (Lijiang) — a sensible acclimatisation curve. Add 2 days for Shangri-La's Songzanlin Monastery at 3,200m; we pace the ascent and hotels accordingly.

One transparent day-rate per car covers the vehicle, driver, fuel, tolls, parking and the driver's own room and meals. You pay for exactly the days you use — no hidden 'empty return' charges.
Can we change the route mid-trip?
Within reason, yes — that's the point of a private journey. Linger an extra hour at a viewpoint, swap an afternoon, add a village your guidebook flagged: agree it with your driver and our team and the plan bends.
